John Ferrara is a graduate of the Crane School of Music. During his studies he was chosen to perform in many Master Classes with world renowned artists including Sergio Assad, Ricardo Cobo, and Antigoni Goni & Pepe Romero. Mr. Ferrara has been the recipient of several awards including 1st prize in the Crane School of Music Chamber Music Competition as a member of the Crane Guitar Quartet.
His eclectic repertoire includes a variety of solo works from the Renaissance to the present day. Mr. Ferrara has performed throughout the northeast and for both private and public engagements. He regularly performs in numerous chamber music performances with flute, voice, mandolin, violin,choir, various bands & mixed ensembles. He currently is a member of the Great Lakes Guitar Quartet, the Foutch /Ferrara Flute/ Guitar Duo & the Polak /Ferrara Guitar Duo.
He is in high demand as an instructor and teaches at the Music School of CNY, his studio in Central New York. Many of his students have gone on to have careers in music & have been accepted to top universities in the country. He also is the director of the Music School of CNY Guitar Ensemble.
