Local historian and journalist Jason Emerson will discuss Mary Todd Lincoln's reputation and legacy in a talk titled, "Mary Lincoln: She is not the woman we think we know." Emerson will also discuss his new book, Lincoln's Lover: Mary Lincoln in Poetry. Copies will be available for purchase and signing. Emerson, editor of the Eagle Bulletin newspaper, is also an independent historian who has authored or edited seven books about Abraham Lincoln and his family as well as numerous articles and reviews. He has appeared as an expert on multiple television programs and networks, including The History Channel, Book TV, CNBC and American History TV. He is a former park ranger at Lincoln Home National Historic Site and Gettysburg National Military park.
