Richard Levine will present
How to Be Spontaneous in Our Writing Process: A Poetry Workshop
Following the William Stafford model, you as a participant will learn to avoid your “editor mind” in writing your poetry and become nonjudgmental in your writing process as you pen new poems that will lead you in a process that can change your ordinary meter and phrases and that will help you discover new ways of opening up and creating in your work. The “Mask” that prevents poets from evolving into new processes will be discussed. Participants' poems will be shared with other workshop participants as the writing process goes forward in this workshop.
This workshop is free and open to new and experienced poets.
This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
